Dr. David Sexton, Pastor
Pastor Sexton is a graduate of Tri-State Baptist College, and has been serving in the ministry full-time for 16 years. He has served in various ministries during those 16 years including bus captain, Sunday school teacher, assistant pastor, Christian school teacher, college professor, and pastor of the LaMarsh Baptist Church in Mapleton, Illinois. In 2017, he and his family moved to join our staff where he became the senior pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in August of 2019. Pastor and his wife, Heather, were married in 2004, and they have 3 beautiful daughters - Madelyn, Julia, and Brooke.
Dr. Ron Westmoreland, Co-Pastor
Dr. Westmoreland has been in the ministry 45 years, with 32 years as pastor here at Bethel Baptist Church, the church founded by his father Roy Westmoreland in 1961. In 1974, he was brought on church staff as a high school teacher in Bethel Baptist School, then became president of Tri-State Baptist College in 1980, and finally was called as pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in 1987. He received his B.A. from Baptist Christian College and received an honorary doctorate from the same institution. Dr. Westmoreland currently serves as co-pastor, teaches in Tri-State Baptist College and teaches an adult Sunday school class. He also travels the nation speaking at Stewardship and Baptist Heritage Conferences. Dr. Westmoreland and his wife, Kim, have been a great blessing to the church for many years. They have two children, Heather and Ryan.
Dr. John McFarlane, Music Director
Bro. McFarlane has served the Lord at Bethel Baptist Church for 41 years. He was principal at Bethel Baptist School for 32 years and has taught in Tri-State Baptist College his entire time at Bethel. He has served as music director of the church for 39 years. He and his wonderful wife, Donna, have been married 48 years and direct the senior citizen ministry. Their four daughter all serve in the ministry – Sherry Barnes in Guam; Jenny Hill in Florida, Beverly Yancey at Bethel, and Ashley Carlisle in West Virginia.
Andrew Grob, Children's Director
Born and raised in Bay View Baptist Church in Washington, IL, Bro. Grob grew up under the founder of King’s Kids, Pastor Keith Thibo. He graduated from Providence Baptist College in 2015. He currently serves on staff as the children’s director and teaches in the high school of Bethel Baptist School. He is married to Rachel, and they have one son, Nathan.
Pete Cavanaugh, Bus Director
Since graduating from Providence Baptist College in 2009, Bro Cavanaugh has served in several different ministries including: traveling with Dr. Dennis Corle and Revival Fires, starting a church in Nigeria with Missionary Mark Holmes, and traveling and serving as Camp Evangelist at Cedar River Baptist Camp. Bro. Cavanaugh joined our staff in 2017 and serves as the Bus Director, Dean of Students, and teaches the Faith Builders Sunday school class. He is married to Leah, and they have three boys - Marcus, James and Nicholas.
